Alan & the Daves Debut Show

Alan & the Daves are a trio of singer-songwriters from Victoria, BC, known for their original songs and good humour. Alan & the Daves is made up of Alan Cassels, David Bigsby, and David Kettlewell, long-time friends and Victoria residents, who started jamming together over 5 years ago and were previously part of the same songwriting circle. Their first big hit, "All Part of the Uniform", melodically documents a scandal at the BC Legislature that involved truckloads of booze and a famous wood splitter. Cassels and Kettlewell have been members of Folkestra, a lively folk performing ensemble led by Daniel Lapp, for over 10 years, where they have honed their guitar playing and ear for melody. Bigsby started singing jazz as an adult, then took up the bass guitar and writing songs. They have, individually and together, jammed with many friends and played at various open mic nights in Victoria. Alan & the Daves is their first band.
