Door d’Or Single Release Party

Door d'Or plays moody, guitar-driven indie rock with post-punk restraint and a strong sense of space. They will release their debut album, an optimistic vision of the future called The Exquisite Dream, in spring 2026. The songs were conceived with a focus on translating live energy into a dynamic, in-studio record. Recorded with legendary indie producer and Juno-award winner Colin Stewart, the album blends atmospheric guitars, post-punk textures, and melodic tension, delivering a sound that’s immersive, immediate, and crafted for attentive listening. Songwriter Mat Geddes combines the dust of sacred sites and the sweat of adventure to form lyrics that search for meaning in the spaces between human existence and the cosmos. Owen Sandquist-Sherman lays down ethereal basslines that reverberate from hip-hop to reggae to Dead-like jams, locking in with the pulse and foundational dynamics of drummer Darin Steinkey. Evan Fryer adds harmonic richness and textural depth on keys while Ry Clayton's lead guitar wails his unique combination of blues, rock, and country. Improvisation is central to Door d’Or’s process, as it is a way to lose and find themselves in sound, to let space and time shape each moment, each song, as much as the strings and skins do. Every rehearsal and performance is part ritual, part adventure—an unfolding rather than a plan.
