Low Boys’ melodic bass lines, punishing drums, chiming riffs, and full-throated bellowing combine into a searing, soaring, scabrous, serrated death blues. Take two parts 90s Pacific Northwest indie (Modest Mouse, Unwound, Lync), one part late 70s CBGB’s post-punk, add a nasty misanthropic streak (Jesus Lizard, Afghan Whigs), stir aggressively. Hot Chicken Salad are a Heavy Fuzz Core 3 piece band hailing from Victoria BC, featuring an alternative artful hardcore sound with aggressive vocals. Sounds like a mix of idles, chat pile and Mars Volta. Their unique brand of entertainment fuses angular riffs, crushing grooves and drum gymnastics.
